Tap cards to reveal them and find matching pairs to clear the board. If the cards don't match, they flip back over, so you must memorize their positions. Clear the entire grid in the fewest moves possible to maximize your score.
I built Match Cards as a remake of the classic pair-matching games we all played growing up. It’s a free brain web game that tests how much information you can actually hold in your head at once. The goal is simple: flip the tiles, remember where the numbers are, and clear the board in as few moves as possible.
I wanted to keep the design minimal so you can focus on the grid. It’s a straightforward way to test your short-term memory and see if you can develop a strategy to clear the board efficiently instead of just guessing randomly.
Master the Grid
The challenge comes down to visual tracking. Every time you flip a card and don't find a match, you have to burn that position into your memory for later. As the boards get larger, it becomes a real drill for your concentration and recall. It’s satisfying to hit a flow where you’re clearing pairs one after another without a single mistake.
I’ve found that even a quick session is a great mental reset. Since it runs right in your browser, you can jump in whenever you want to test your memory and see if you can beat your previous best move count.

Sharpen Your Recall
I designed this to be a fast, lightweight experience. This isn't just about luck; it's about systematic scanning and staying attentive. The more you play, the better you get at visualizing the board and recalling patterns under pressure.
I built this to be accessible on any device. Whether you want to improve your focus or just need a classic puzzle to kill some time, Match Cards is ready to play instantly in your browser.
